Smile What's GPS Routing Setting?

I noticed that acura GPS calculates the shortest distance, is there a way to change this setting to fastest or any other option.
This is a very common feature to all GPS, I hope acura has it too. Just to save 5 miles on the route, I took me through local roads for almost 15 mins. I am sure its not acura's fault that local roads where crowded at that time of the hour and it should have suggested Highway instead.
But is there any such ways to change settings?

yes there is a way and its pretty straightforward, when you setting the location in the destination screen, you will see "route pref" in the menu. if you select that, you can maximize or minimize freeways. or in the same screen you can select view routes and will see three different routes to get you there. each of those shows miles and time.

hope this helps.

Maybe you can answer this.. I just traded in my 2008 TL with Tech for a 2012 TL. I use the GPS all the time. The 2008 had Route Preference options for Direct and Easy Route... great options. Now I have Max/Min Freeways, Max/Min Toll Roads (how is this different from Freeways???) and Max/Min Ferries! What the heck?! We live in NJ, frankly, except for drivers in Seattle, maybe Long Island to CT, who has car ferries in this country!? Seems like a major dopey move on the Navigation Engineers' part.. thoughts? How can I get Direct/Easy options back? Thanks.

NO, you can't.

You'll have to learn to use the min/max settings.

May god bless you? Sounds like a religious preaching imo.

But yeah do what he said and you should be sorted!

The three options do not allow for direct route...seems this is a major flaw. Yesterday we tested it out, the direct route we usually take to a place (and route the old Acura had always given us) was not an option, instead the new navi took us this totally crazy way... _probably looking for ferries... too bad, we love the car but this navi has taken steps backwards.

I remember many years ago going from the Outer Banks to Ocracoke (sp?) Island I had to take a ferry. As skinny as my 99 Subaru Outback Sprot was, it barely fit and you could barely open the car doors for exit and entry...

off topic...sorry
