Question Voice Recognition Tutor: ALWAYS On

Hey everyone,
I've read through a couple posts on this forum and it seems like people have experienced something slightly less severe than the issue that I'm having.

Previously, I was having the issue where the voice prompt would read absolutely everything out to me. This gets especially annoying when I have a data CD in my car and it decides to read out loud the mp3 filename for every track I scroll through.

I saw a few posts though on this forum where all I had to do was disable the Voice Recognition Tutor through the Set Up menu. When I did this, it worked. . . Only for a little bit.

The solution only worked the first time I did it. The next time I started my car though, it was acting as if it is still set, but I looked through the settings and it was apparently turned off.

I've tried turning the tutor on again and then turning it off and I still have the voice reading everything on the menu out loud to me. There was also an option to put all of the settings back to Factory Default. Even after doing that, I am still having the same issue.

I just recently purchased the TL used about 3 months ago. It's a 2012 SH-AWD with the Tech Package. It was a leased vehicle though, so there are higher hopes that it was maintained better than through a private sell (I purchased the vehicle through an Acura dealership). I'm about to take her out for an oil change and I do intend to ask the dealer for them to look into this problem. My feeling is that they won't have much of an idea of what to do. Has anyone had this issue? Does anyone know if there'd be a way to reflash/reinstall the Navi software?

I do have my phone connected to the car through Bluetooth and I do scroll through the menus while I am driving (although not the smartest thing to do). Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome

I believe there is an option in the audio setup to turn this off. I've come across it before. I will try to find it when I get home tonight as I remember it was relatively easy to get to.

Just to be clear: You want to turn off the feature that reads out every menu selection that you move the "cursor" over?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm hoping to be able to do. Any help on this would be great

On a similar note...I'd like to stick my dick in the mouth of that "Please fasten driver seat-belt" bitch.

I don't need another woman telling me how to drive.

I almost mentioned this as well. I'll try to dig for a way to turn this off, but I think I have looked for it and dint turn up anything.

Thanks^

I might change the voice to male in the mean time, as I will not feel as confident talking/yelling back at it.
