Voice Command - Help!

This is my first Acura and first time using the voice commands. I've had the car a few weeks and have been through the various manuals and all the screens.
Does anyone know how to turn off the 'read back' that the voice (she) does? For instance, when listening to a playlist on my iPod - I can be listening to one song, but if I turn the knob to scan through the playlist to see what else is there - everytime I stop at a song, she cuts the radio volume and reads that song title to me - then the radio voulume goes back up. Real annoying!
I have tried the only settings I can find in Setup that I would think would stop this behavior -
Voice Recognition Feedback & Verbal Reminders
but neither of those seem to stop it?
Anyone know of any other settings or way to make this stop?

Alo, I'm curious if there are any other 'hidden' menus or settings - anyway to change the voice?

Hit the Info button, scroll to bottom right and hit setup, then hit "other" (it's bump to the right with the knob selector), then select basic settings, then turn off verbal voice reminder. That was annoying for me too!

From my original post... I had tried that and it seemed to not make a difference? Actually from the description in the manual of the settings on that screen I would have thought it would have been the other setting 'Voice recognition feedback'... I tried shutting each one off and it didn't seem to help. I will try again - thanks for the response.

me too

Tried that too, I think it will kick in once you restart your car, cause it was not working when I did that. Than I went back to my car and tested it out and it does not say the radio station anymore.

I tried different combinations of setting Verbal Reminders and Voice Recognition Feedback off - both set to off and then just one. There is something strange going on here - most of the time when I set either or both to off it doesn't change a thing. At one point I shut off the car and when I started it again - it was fixed... but only for a while - then the voice was back reading everything back to me. On the way home tonite I had set Verbal Reminders off and got it to work. Seemed like I had it. Stopped to get gas. When I started the engine to leave the gas station it was back reading things to me again. I left it alone - but right before I got home I got a phone call. Answered on the Handsfree thing; when I hung up it was fixed again.
This is wierd. I've worked with computer technology my whole adult life and you just don't see problems like this - it either works or it doesn't. Seems like there is something else going on?

i've done all those tests, and conclude that once set, the next restart take effect, than the next restart goes back to how it was before, but the settings in setup remain.

Really strange, what we do here ?

I had the exact same annoyance with the song titles being read out as you scrolled to change a song. I was able to make a menu adjustment so it stopped. It has stayed stopped. I cannot remember off the top of my head how to do it, but once I have a chance to look at the menu screens again I will (probably?) remember how I did it and and post details tomorrow.

Take heart that it can be done.

I did call Acura Client Services today - had a different question, but ended up asking about this one. When I described what I wanted to accomplish she confirmed it should be the 'Voice Recognition Feedback'. When I told her it only worked some of the time she said something must be wrong and I needed to take it to the dealer. Not sure just how much she really knew or how much she was relying on what I was telling her. She did put me on hold for a minute or so - when she came back is when she said it was the Voice Recognition Feedback...

Yeah, I just tried verbal voice reminder and recognition feedback, and I'm still getting the car telling me what song is playing...pretty irritating since it lowers the volume of the song

Well... I figured it out. It is on the first Setup screen - on thr right, just below volume, called ' Interface Dial Feedback ' (Dah!).
Three settings - On, Auto, Off. Mine was set to Auto which means only read back when the car is moving... which explains why sometimes my attempts changing the other settings would seem to work - and other times not.
In the end pretty simple...

You beat me to it! I've been following this thread, and also wanted to disable this, and also figured it out this morning: INFO > SETUP > INTERFACE DIAL FEEDBACK (turn from auto to off).

This is discussed on pp94-95 of the navigation manual - it says it's there so that drivers can keep their eyes on the road instead of having to look at the screen for feedback as much.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that one as well... The first time I heard it, I turn every voice auto prompt off. Now if I can just get rid of those damn automated messages!
