Viper Alarm/Remote Start for the 4G

Does anyone have any sort of Viper for their 4G? I'm planning to put some extra self-insurance on mine

That's a remote start only though. I need the alarm system more the remote start would just be more convenient.

The Viper 5902 Responder HD Color SuperCode SST 2-Way Security and Remote Start System will work with the 4th Gen TL.

I'm installing it next month.

It's a 2-way Alarm/Remote Start Communication System that you can also control using an iphone app (SmartStart) to start/stop your car from anywhere in the world. beats Acura version.

cheaper price : Viper 5902

wont you have issues with the keyless access such as the doors trying to unlock when you place your hand in the handle? That's my main concern, a conflict with the vehicle and the alarm system. If that can be avoided, then I would definitely be on board for a remote start/alarm combo. I assume that feature will be rendered useless and I will just have to use a remote again lol. Iphone is a good substitute tho.

Hello I run 25 Car Audio stores. Viper and Code make great alarms/remote start combos. There is no problem doing an alarm/remote start with or with out push to start. Flashlogic makes an amazing bypass that has been proven of over three years. This modul talks with the vehicle and tells it what to do. You can use the universal FLCAN or the
FLC-AL(DL)-HA. Any question let me know

In other words, it can still open the door with your hand on the handle?

I find that APP to be ridiculous. Car alarm on your phone? If you lose you're phone that's going to suck big cajones.

I am sure it is compatible for the 4G TL. The problem is not everyone wants to deal with the smart key issue. If they mess up, your car needs to be re-flashed.

it shows lack of technology knowledge.
If you loose your iphone, you can immediately lock your phone and delete all the important information remotely, not only that, you can track where your phone is via gps and find out who stole it (if that's the case).
And you can even listen to the phone without it ever ringing...
To get back into the car you can use the normal alarm remote control. (if you were smart enough to keep it in a safe place)

There is always a safe way to use technology...

Free service the first year, and only $29.99/year after that...

that's only $2.50 a month...
most people spend more on coffee, or beer on one weekend.

you can then monitor your car from anywhere in the world where you can find an available wifi connection.

Bumping this as I've always gotten a Viper alarm with remote start on my cars, wondering if it has been installed successfully on the 4G TL with key less entry remote start models.

Thumbs up I have Clifford 5704X on 09TL

I have this alarm for about 9 months now. I have the GPS function as well. I can still use my factory keyfob to arm and unarm and my hand still disarms and unlocks the doors. I didnt even have to give up a fob for the remote start the installer did great research and took his time. The only bad thing is if i remote start the car and when i open the door it shuts off so you have to restart, but at least if someone else tries to break window and open door the same thing will happen. I also have all 4 windows controlled up and down. Clifford is made by the same company as viper (directed electronics)

I have the viper 5904 alarm system and nothing changed on the factory alarm. Everything works the same way it did before I added the viper.

the alarm/starter will not effect the vehicles keyless entry system, if you have a two way alarm it will even notify you that that the car is unlock or so on, As of right now im pretty sure there is NO PRODUCT that allows for secure takeover all starters even the acura one will shut the car down upon opening the drivers or any door , thats just the way it is with alot of push start vehicles

I have a 2013 tl tech. I had the dealer install the viper remote start. I think it is the 4104. Basic unit but it works fine.

For those of you that have this installed, do your front right side (passenger) parking lights come on when you remote start it? I just got this installed on my 13 TL and only the driver's side parking lights come on while it's remote started. Both sides light up on the rear, just not front. The installer said that's how it's wired with our cars, only left side will light up.

All of my bulbs work when I turn them on. Only when I remote start the car, the passenger side parking lights won't come on. If I leave my lights on the on position when it's turned off and then remote start it, all the lights work, just when I have the lights in the off position and remote start, only driver side lights up.

I just had a basic remote start installed and everything works fine except it throws an error code if I unlock the cat with the keyless entry method. Is this normal or can the installer make it so the error code doesn't pop up?

Personally, I'm avoiding Viper; there are too many good alternatives out there. Durability is the issue. The remote on my Wife's Viper system was falling apart, so I took it into my local shop, only to find out that they all seem to fall apart the same way. After contacting Viper, I was told they would do a "one-time only" replacement of the housing, but after waiting several weeks, I emailed them back and was advised that they didn't have any replacement housings (remember, this is Viper), but if they ever got any in, they'd let me know.

As I say...too many good alternatives.

Kinda curious who you're suggesting...

Viper is from DEI (Directed Electronics Inc) who also owns Python, Clifford, Hornet, and Avital. All of those are pretty much identical across the board with Clifford/Viper/Python really only being different in color.

I never had issues with my Viper setup.

And there's a shit ton of aftermarket/replacement parts for those guys.

I have a 2013 Tech SH-AWD 6MT and would love to install a 2-way Remote Starter.

I'm contemplating on going with a Compustar from a local Toronto installer, who has installed a an earlier version of a Compustar in my 3G which works perfect since the instal.

My concern is carrying around two remotes so I decided to go with the Drone Phone Ap.

Keep in mind my TL is a six speed manual and will cost me over a grand when I'm done.

I have a compustar with the Drone phone app and it works great. There is a little lag between the remote and the phone so I would recommend both.

The only thing you need is a clutch bypass, which is literally looping two contacts together so the car thinks the clutch is pressed. I did the Viper install on my '96 Accord that was manual.

Muff, is it possible to install it so that the car won't start if left in gear, but will start in neutral? (07 6MT)
