09 Tl Tech with factory installed Navi. Will upgrading to any version update UI ?

What do you mean by UI?

 

UI = User Interface - i.e. the way the screen looks. I assume by upgraded, you mean installing a new DVD for updated maps? When I upgraded on my 2010 TL, there was no change noticed in the Navi UI.

 

pretty sure it does not update the user interface. only adds or removes streets and hotels and places to eat and stuff like that. i went from a 2002 to a 2010 upgrade hoping it would look different, but all i got was a few more street level details in some small states.

on the acura site where you purchase the disks, it tells you exactly what the upgrade does. never i have seen say anything about upgrading the UI, just the POIs.

 

It won't upgrade the GUI. Only adds new streets, POIs and maybe Zagat ratings (not 100% sure about Zagat though)

 

Can the new updates be found online somewhere or do we need to purchase the updates off the Acura site every time?

 

you'll need to purchase it every time.

this is why its such a waste of money. graphics are unchanged, as all it does is add new POV's and streets. thats it.

they want you to shell out 200 dollars every year.
