Just a word of warning about Valentine here. I bought a Valentine 1 along with the hard wire kit. The detector arrived but the hard wire kit did not.

I wrote them about it. They said the part was shipped and maybe UPS lost it. The part was shipped in the same box with the detector, according to CS!! So they say UPS opened the box and took the hard wire kit out?? As if!

Bottom line, they refuse to send me what I paid for nad expect me to take it up with UPS.

This comes from Customer (DIS)Service. I am doing my part by letting you all know.

^^What?? How weird is that? Why would the UPS guy just want the hard-wire kit. That doesn't even make sense. I had a friend who wanted to sell the HWKit because he decided not to hard-wire his and couldn't get anyone to buy it (5years ago). So I know there is no craigslist value for those.

hardwire kit is nothing to sweat over. you can find it on ebay for ~$10. you can even get one that has a built in 1A fuse.

and if you want a directwire kit that also has a built in mute button or switch (4 feet long, so you can place it anywhere you want within that range), they also sell that too. runs about ~$15.

Not to get off topic or take the OP's thread, but I plan on tinting the windshield with 70%. Any guesstimates on how much it would reduce my V1's effectiveness(also have tint all around the car). Thanks
