!!!VALENTINE 1 Installation!!!

Hey guys, i have jst received my radar/laser detector. I am trying to install the "Direct-Wire Power Adapter".

Instructions exactly say:

step 1: Valentine One works only with negative ground electrical systems. If you car is old or unusual brand of import, make sure its negative ground.

step 2: Select a "switched" wire ,i.e., one that's off when the ignition is switched off, and has 12volts when the ignition is switched on.

step 3: Position wiring-harness connector around "switched" wire and squeeze with pliers to install.

step 4: Plug red wire from direct-wire power adaptor into wiring-harness connector.

step 5: Make ground connection by clamping the end of the black wire under any grounded screw.

step 6: Plug the cord from Valentine One into the modular jack labeled "Main Unit" on the Direct-Wire power adapter.

-So basically i am asking is the 2009 TL tech Pkge capable for this installment?

Any help is very much appreciated

yeah why not? all you have to do is hook up the black wire to a ground terminal (battery ground or chassis should work) and find your 12v switched battery wire and tap into that for your power. That way any time you turn your car off, it will turn off the radar.

There is nothing unusual to connecting your V one. Since you are asking the question, I think you need to hire someone to do it for you.

Don't bother with that hard wire, just use one of these, very easy:
