I'm a former vendor her on AZ so I can't talk cost or promote my business in any way. If you have questions please feel free to shoot me a PM or email and we can talk about it off-line.

Noticed that the enclosure you are selling does not come ported? What are the advantages of porting or not? What is the added cost if you want to port? Do you mind me asking what type of sub and amplifier are you running?

This is the kind of thing Acurazine should be reaching out and promoting; a craftsman building quality custom components for our vehicles.

I've seen your 3G work, and it was top notch.

^^^ adding any kind of sub enclosure would probably make the rattles worse.

Trunk rattle, or the rear speaker deck rattling?

I can not answer any of these questions here as I am not a vendor. However, I can answer any of you questions off-line if you'd like. Send me a PM or email. Thank you.

Well thank you sir! I've been talking with Internet Brands (the owner of AZ) about coming back on board as a vendor.

It's rare that the TL produces any trunk rattle. Especially with the factory subwoofer. We've done several 4th Gen TL's with aftermarket subwoofers and none of them had rattles at all. Maybe you have something loose and the bass is making it shake around. Or maybe your factory subwoofer is loose or blown.

Rattles are a symptom of something loose or broken.

Damn, I hate responding to your questions eggy. It's a Diamond Audio D310. The enclosure is built to the specs of the subwoofer. The owner listens to mostly rock so the sub/enclosure combo was perfect.

Good question, I guess rear deck speaker. When I listen to House/Progressive music the high bass notes give it the worest rattle.

The deck rattle is a common one. The 3G had the same issue. The deck cover is too close to the speaker and not enough weather stripping/insulation between the deck cover and deck and/or speaker. I figure mine will rattle within a couple of years.

I removed the deck speaker in my 3G and used the Uncald box in the trunk... no rattle trouble after that!

There is a lot of info for the 3G for that kind of info... yes, I was able to do all the mods to my 3G by using DIY's from apec kit add-ons to adding a back up camera.

uncald4, great looking work!

Do you plan on doing anything that will go into the rear of the trunk (closest to the back seat)? The location of your custom setup here will interfere with my golf habit.

Nice, but um...I would put a golf club right through that once a month. Without a cover that's $1,200 a year.

Actually this TL belonged to a golfer. His stipulation was that it had to easily fit his full bag with clubs and all accessories. Mission accomplished. I'll see if he can send me some pics with his golf gear loaded.

This subwoofer has a grill but he didn't want it on.

Also, this enclosure shown is one of the biggest examples. Being that it's a ported enclosure it requires more air space which makes the enclosure bigger. Sealed enclosures would be half that size.

Just sent him a text. He's actually out golfing now. He says he'll send a pic when he gets back to the car.

The amp is mounted up under the rear deck. Out of site and out of the way.

Ahh, LOL.

Diamon Audio 310 in the 1st post hints that it's a 10".

Ya that would make sense. I'd like to see a 12" in the same enclosure just to see the size difference. It looks like the 10" takes up enuf space and I do use my trunk

I am curious about getting a sub for my tl and had some questions.

I mostly listen to rap, and electronic music. what type of enlcosure would be better? sealed or ported? and what size do you think would give a better overall sound. 10" or 12".

also can you give a recommendation on a sub, no more then $200. and an amp recommendation?

I have two 12" type R's from several years ago (akthough i think one of them is blown) and an mtx amp.

I really dig this, but I think that the thing we're all wanting to see is what it looks like on the back side, outside of the trunk. So curious!
