Upgrade
Upgrade
Okay, I understand there is probably a million other threads asking the same questions, but I don't exactly want to swift through them all.
I'm looking into getting an 2010 TL with the tech package.
Is upgrading the sub/speakers worth it, or is it a pretty good system to begin with. I was looking to test drive one, but there is NOT ONE in Fairbanks, Alaska.
I currently have a Rockford Fosgate P300-12 Single 12" 300 Watt Powered Subwoofer and that is plenty bass for me.
How does that sub compare to the one in the TL?
Are the speakers worth getting upgraded? If so, what are some great ones to install without having to do any rewiring of any such.
If I do any upgrades the most wiring I will do is the sub wiring if needed.

What would you suggest for other mods other than audio?
Worst case scenario I use my enclosed sub/amp and put it in the car which wont be an issue. I just wonder how the 10 speakers hold up and what not.

What is the max peak/rms of the standard sub?
Unless you plan on spending a few grand on upgrades the stock ELS sound system is and excellent system. One thing to make sure you prepare yourself for is that the ELS is a very clean sound and the sub while a tad under powered is also very clean. Depending on what you aw used to you may feel it is lacking, but remember that most car audio subs will produce boomy muddy sounds that on the surface can be confused with sounding louder until you realize they are not producing accurate lows like the ELS will.

Anyone have a clean HD video of the ELS? As well as kind of a review of the car being driven ect?
