I've burned CDs with music bought from iTunes, and made through iTunes and the track info is on my NAV screen. You need to select "CD text" in the options screen before you burn the disc in iTunes. Once you do that, the artist/track info will show.

 

You can download your itunes music directly to your HDD and have the track title and artist displayed if you use a CD. When you create a CD in itunes it will prompt you if you would like to include CD text or something like that. Click the box for CD text and burn the CD. The HDD will read the track title and artist but won't have the album information. I burned from an itunes playlist and the album was the name of the itunes playlist.

 

Are you guys burning a regular audio CD (i.e., wav files) from iTunes mp3/mp4 files, and then having the car re-encode to mp3?

I downloaded the update, but on my screen the "update Gracenote" selection is grayed out. I guess it's semi-current already.

For about 3 days I had no clue why my car keep playing adventura live when I hit the HDD button. When I did figure it out I purchased a new CD and had to manually input the songs even after the update.

I'm guessing that just released CDs will always have to be put in manually.

 

yes, you are correct. Sadly, these cars do not have 2-way sat/3G/etc commincation to check gracenote online.

I find it easier to use my iPod or bluetooth than the HDD
