The TL nav system's audio prompt have some benefits, especially when spelling a name or address while driving, but it's really annoying when switching or scrolling through songs.

• Any way to tell it to not give audio prompts on the audio screen?
• Any way to quickly jump to, say, "W" in the Artists list of an iPod on the TL?

i do either two things

i have a playlist that is organized by artist alphabetically and i just skip songs to find an artist based on the song #

for example on my ipod the "m"s are near the middle of the # out of #


or you can search for the song on the actual ipod and play it then plug it in and it continue through the car

seeing as you have an iPod touch you should have considerably less songs on there than i do (i have 14,000 songs) and doing the first method should be easier

i only use the first method on my playlists (which are usually around 20-100 songs with one exception of 1200 4 and 5 starred songs)

 

To turn off audio promts, go to INFO, SET UP, INTERFACE DIAL FEEDBACK, turn it to off. This will now only give you the navigation voice when you use your navigation, it turns off the verbal queing involved with turning the dial.
