Hey all,
Right now I have an IDMAXD4 10" in a fiberglass sealed enclosure tucked in the driver side corner of the trunk. I've been dancing around the decision to try Infinite Baffle with my IDMAX. My sealed IDMAX sounds nice in it's enclosure, but I'm just curious about IB esp. since my IDMAX has IB capabilities.
I've seen IHC install with 2 15" mounted on the back seat, and I'd like to do something different by mounting the single 10" under the rear deck, firing into the cabin, through the stock sub hole.
Would you recommend this mounting position? Why/why not? I'm aware that I have to completely seal the mounting area.. How would YOU do it?
I should have enough Ensolite and Deadener.
My equipment list is in my sig... I might upgrade the PPI's to some 3-ways.
Thanks

I'm a BIG fan of IB installs - if done properly - that being said the rear underside of the deck does not have enough clearance for the magnet, let alone the basket structure of your IDMAX.
I'm looking at sealing up the trunk and building a wall - utilizing two 10's in an IB. Removing the sub from the rear deck fixes almost ALL noise / rattle issues. Additionally, you have the option of sealing up that rear deck even more.

Thanks for your reply.
Sorry, I should have been more specific. I don't plan on using the existing hole where the stock sub was mounted, I want to have a baffle made to attach UNDER the rear deck IN the trunk... basically right behind the trunk light... Eliminating the rear deck trunk liner.
Basically i want to show the back of the woofer. Like the pics below, obviously just 1 sub mounted in the middle.

Yea, I took the trunk liner off except the driver side, since it has the sub enclosure. All you see is metal, deadener, spare tire, and amp/wires.
You know, looking at your pics, I just realized this thread is in the wrong forum. lol.
MODs, can you move this to 3rd Gen. TL (Audio, Bluetooth, Electronics & Navigation), Please.
