For those with a 10" ported sub..

I'm looking to add a JL Audio 10W3V3-2 in a ported box. Just curious to know how others with a 10" sub feel with their sound output. Is it enough?

thanks!

Wouldn't be enough for me

Then again i have 2 12's and about 4500w's on tap in my TL.

Should be enough for the average listener, though.

I've always had JL Audio subs. The W3 will work best for what I'm looking for.

SSA Dcon would've prolly worked better for what you were looking for.

How so? I've been working with Travis at Icon Audio and for what I was looking for he suggested 10W3V3 along with Hybrid Audio speakers; and from what I've read are also very good.

No wonder he suggested JL

Those places try hard to push products with the highest profit margins, over looking what the customer really wants.

I asked if he carried JL products and he does. He also carries the speakers I was looking for. In addition, he also makes the type of enclosure I was looking for.

Just a tip...

You may want to remove your factory sub to allow for more sound to travel to the cabin from the trunk. You can also open the passthrough. Maybe consider having the box built so the port faces one of those.

I have a JL Audio 12" W3 with a sealed box and a 450W Alpine amp...it's plenty loud for my taste.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Bronco. I'm getting one of the custom enclosures from Icon Audio (Uncald4 on the board here) There are a few pics of the box on the site here as well. The sub is on a bit of an angle facing the top left hand side of the trunk when you look at it from the rear....hard to explain.
I'm also looking at the 10" woofer from Hybrid Audio

If it's the one I'm thinking of it's a great looking box. I wanted something against the back of my trunk (i.e. against the back seat), so I could still keep longer items in there like golf clubs or a stroller, otherwise I would've strongly considered one that mounts on the side.
