OK... so... got the car in April and have an Ipod touch and was flawless for five months... now... recently I am getting faint static in the music via my ipod touch and cable.. tried changing the cable AND tried a different Itouch... anyone have any similar noise and or solutions???

 

It sounds like your USB cable (the one that's part of the car) might be loose or having issues. I would bring it to the dealer for sure and ask them to check that.

 

I occasionally get what sounds like the clicks or scrathces that you get when you play a vinyl record...couldn't pinpoint it...changed USB cables and it still occurred

 

Hey guys, did anyone ever find out what the cause of this is? I have a 2010 with tech package and it is making the exact same noise when playing from an iPod touch.

 

What are the source files? CD rips that have errors in the rip can sound staticky.

 

about 90% of my music is downloaded from iTunes. I dont have but maybe 50 songs that were ripped from CD's

 

when listening through the computer or through headphones, I don't hears the scratches/static.

only (occasionally) though USB...tried 3 different apple usb-dock cables (at $20 a pop!!)
