I noticed the order of folders that show up on our cars are in the order we add to the flash drive. It does not sort alphabetically. It's bad enough there is no search function (is there?), but it also can't sort alphabetically??

 

Yeah I've found using a flash drive is kinda hit or miss. First there's the folder organization which you mentioned. Then, when I create "playlist" folders, the random function seems to replay the same songs in the same order EVERY time you restart the vehicle. I ended up going on Craigslist and finding a cheap iPod nano just for the car because I was getting super annoyed.

 

You have to use software that can alphabetically sort a FAT file system, like a USB drive. The internal TL software can't do it automatically on anything but the HDD.

I've been using FAT Sorter (free) since I got my TL, and it works great. Add music to the USB drive and run the sorter before you pull the drive out to put it back into the car.
