I have tried to search this forum. oddly I get threads about a varity of cars and not for the 4g TL . I am trying to update the base system on the TL . ive only seen a few threads. is the stock oem nav screen in color ? can it be transferred to the base system?

You need a Tech donor with all the modules and wiring to transfer it to the base. If there is no donor, it will be very expensive.

im just going to add a portable carplay device. its not worth all that and still be obsolete trying to upgrade to tech package. lol.

One thing I like is that these will display your A/C control temperatures (something I felt the non-Nav TL owners felt left out on when it comes to aftermarket double din). I definitely will pick this up one day.

I just installed a new JVC touchscreen head unit on my 2013 TL Tech w/ Nav in April-24. This harness kit connects the new touchscreen directly to the factory amp in the trunk.. Amazing!
Please go to YouTube channel: Acura Audio Garage - Search the channel for 4th Gen TL - They sell the complete harness needed to change from ELS stereo to aftermarket. Needed to buy a few things like Double Din, Steering Wheel retention control and a few other things that the channel will list for you.
Worth every penny to me as my TL has only 62k miles with tons of life left. Hope that helps.
