Side view camera
Side view camera
Has any one done research on installing a side view camera, Like the one offered in Honda "Lane Watch feature".
Is it possible to install that feature in the 2014 Acura TL AWD tech pack?
Greatly appreciate any feed back.

You can trade in and get an Advance Model with the blind spot monitor or upgrade to a new TLX tech
In all seriousness you could do it, but it wouldn't be the cheapest to do.
You'll need:
Backup Camera (small enough to fit in the side mirror) ($50-100)
A Nav to TV interface such as Navtool, Dom's TVandNav2go, etc ($100-300)
Extra Wiring ($10)
T-Taps (electrical tap) ($10)
Electrical Tape
Drill
Automotive relay + capacitors
Drill a hole in the side mirror and place the camera in there. Route the wires through the door inside the car. Lead the Video output from the camera to the "switched" input on the video module. The "Trigger" on the video module should be hooked up to the turn signal via the relay to trigger the camera to turn on. You can use capacitors to help smooth out the blinking light suppling power to the relay so the camera is constantly on (not flashing) during a right lane change.
Honestly, I wouldn't spend the money on this but rather on maintenance. Set your mirrors properly and you shouldn't even need blind spot monitoring!
