Putting song on the HD

Is there a way that when I put a flash drive with music on it to transfer it on to the hard drive?

None that I am aware of. The best you could do is to burn an audio CD (Redbook, I believe) with the songs you would like and then those could be ripped to the HD. Unfortunately, you would be limited to the 72 minutes available on a CD, so there's no way to upload a bunch of music as if from a flash drive or some other source.

Or 16GB on a flash drive (and some say 32GB flash drives work as well).

The only advantage to the hard drive is that it's muuuuch easier to find the tracks you're looking for.

On another note, when I put a burned CD in the HD, it automatically rips it to the drive but the titles aren't showing up? How can I get the information like artist and title to show on the HDD??? Thanks in advance.

You would have to set all that information manually, which, btw, is excessively painful. I think it took me about 45 minutes to do 16 tracks on an album that wasn't in the CDDB yet.

You can burn a CD with CD-TEXT added in, I think iTunes is capable of doing this, and there are other programs. The car will then be able to read the track names off the disc.

Note that when you take an mp3 or aac file and burn it to audio cd, and then reimport it into whatever compressed format the HD uses, you're introducing additional sound loss.

the HD is just too much hassle - what with missing titles and poor navigation

I mean who listens to CDs anymore (almost kidding, but not) - much less who wants to burn one to import to the HD?

- just plug an iPod in - and your done.

I'm with ya. My girlfriend made me a cd with some cool tunes and It was the 1st time that I used the cd player since I've owned my car. Just wish it was better than advertised.
