Playlists on IPOD TL 2010

I have been looking all over the forums, books, websites to find a simple way to skip from A-M etc..

I have 365 Playlists (Albums) on my IPOD But when I click on Playlists, it starts at Asia (etc) but i need to turn the wheel on navi to get down the list but it's really a pain, and usually im at destination by the time I get to middle of list.. Lets say I want to get letter M.. or R etc..

Is there any trick to doing this? I have 80g ipod and was going to get 160 but i dont see any reason if its so hard to get to the proper album.. You would think it would have the letters to allow you to qucikly jump but i cant figure out.

How are the rest of you doing this? Is there a trick?

I read on another post on this site, the several people are experiencing this including myself. My only hope is that a software update will fix this.

I have the same situation. I got a iPod touch and connect it via the Bluetooth audio. I use the iPod Touch interface to select songs instead.

But it kind of defeats the purpose of the ipod controls. I mean, i have android (samsung galaxy) phone with 32g's with touch control, but to use it, i lose all the displays of the songs other then bluetooth audio on the navi.

Once again, Acura takes short cuts that a freaking ford and chevy that is 20,000 less works better.

Just a tad frustrated. I wish I knew this before I switched cars.

I totally agree with you on not able to utilitize the navi display. I gave up the navi display for quicker selection of songs on the iPod touch. One good thing with the bluetooth audio is that I am able to let my friends seating in the backseats to pick songs on my iPod Touch. =)

I called Acura and they said you can move the joystick right and left to choose alphabet. Then I went to try it. BS. That doesnt work. I guess in the MDX it does, great tech/cust sservice.

I'll need to check again, but I think mine works that way.

I have a lot of playlist too which makes it difficult a times to even search on the iPhone. One way I find around this is to split up my playlist into folders. I know creating albums into playlist can be a pain but with the new "Create New Playlist from Selection" in iTunes its not as bad as before. Once you have the playlist you want, its just a matter of dropping desired playlist in the folders you have created.

You can reorganize your iPod or create new playlists, I am not sure about the alphabet index but I know the HDD has that, also you can hold the skip bar left or right to move rapidly so you don't have to scroll (not sure if that is mentioned too often), read it in the manual. Finally you can use BT audio and also stream internet radio while your at it or even the 3.5 mm RCA aux jack is an option. One way or another the TL has you covered. You'd be surprised to learn the cars that don't have BT audio or multiple device inputs.

If Acura had taken the hard drive options ( ripping a CD to hard drive) and applied it to both the USB and Ipod methods the music issues would be resolved. That is what I am wishing for in a software update...

No good, I guess it's wishful thinking, rarely use my iPod, store most of my music on my phone and use internet radio over BT instead. The wording is a little misleading, had to look it up. Maybe it's me I don't know?

"To move rapidly within a file, press and hold either side of the skip bar.

Turning the selector knob to the right or the left also changes the file."

Actually this I what I meant to say.
