Passive Door Locks

Does anyone know of a good system that will automatically lock the doors after the car has been turned off that doesn't require a separate remote? Alternatively, an alarm that would automatically arm after a short period of time. My dealer had no ideas and the local car stereo shop said I'd have to carry a second remote.

Thanks,

Alpine will. After you open and close a (or multiple doors) you can walk away and it will automatically lock and arm the car (but you still need the remote to open).
But, why? If you a psyically able to drive, you should be able to lock your own car door.

Agree that locking the doors is a simple and easy thing to do. Reality is that sometimes it doesn't happen. Since we've already had one known time that the doors weren't locked and someone got into the car and stole some things, I just thought it would be worth checking on the option. Had this on a couple of my old cars and it worked great. Especially with multiple kids driving the cars.

Does not help you, but my maita can do this. I close the door and walk away from the car and the doors locks. Once the car sees that the key is a certain distance from the car it locks the door. The lights will flash to let you know the doors were locked.

My 4g just has an add on ,that adds a shock sensor. EX you bang on the glass the the horn will blow. Had a under dash switch to turn that fixture off when there is a thunderstorm. Any good 12volt shop should be able to add this to our existing alarm system. Only draw back is, I have to remember to unlock the doors before closing the trunk. as that will make the alarm go off.

could be worse...once every six months or so one of us forgets to shut the garage door, allowing access to both cars, the house, and all my tools!
