Noob question about voice feedback

I have a 2012 tech package model and I had a quick question:

For navigation guidance, I do appreciate the voice guidance and feedback by the robotic sounding lady. It's useful then.

However, is there anyway I can turn her off in all other areas of the car's interface???? It's very annoying going through the menus and having the voice feedback pelt off the name of whatever option/setting I am on. It's unnecessary, gets in the way of music playback, and generally infuriates my passengers.

For instance: If I go hit "Menu" and go to "Setup", she'll actually say "Setup". I know I am on that option, why does the car need to voice dictate that to me?

Thanks in advance.

does this occur while you drive? because if it does the is a safety feature that helps drivers to select options necessary while driving like inputing address or going through your contacts to make a call.
I think you can turn it off or at least turn the voice command volume down if im not mistaken
