The non tech system is 200 watts or so, less power for sure, and it shows. Sitting at the dealership waiting on my car, I had a chance to listen to a non-tech system. Now being a Audio guy all my life, the audio system is a more dramatic comparison than the AWD to FWD driving performance, but that's just me. Proper amplification is key in a good audio system, so the more power the better! More clean power opens up the avenue for more speakers, which in return give you more music or dialogue. There still is no sweep-able digital EQ which Mr. Elliot really should add to the EOS to gain/reduce certain harsh frequencies in commercial releases CD's or DVD-A's, especially in the mid-range from 800hz to 4K.

That being sad, the non-nav audio is still good for stock systems, but not as strong as the Tech model. If your considering this car, get the Tech package, you won't ever look back with all the other amenities that accompany the Tech Package, it's worth the extra bucks.
