New 09 TL with Tech - Move to Sirius?
Ok, doing some searches on here and found a few things, but no real answers. I just picked up my new TL w/Tech (Basque Red) on Monday and love it! I have an existing Sirius subscription which I can cancel if I have to, but I much prefer Sirius over XM.
So, question is, any way to modify/replace the XM receiver with a Sirius one and, if so, will the Nav unit still pick up Traffic/Weather from the Sirius side of things? (Sirius has traffic, but I'm not sure about Weather as an add-on service).
Interesting thing I noticed too - Sirius' traffic map shows incident and flow data for Austin, TX whereas XM only shows incident info...bummer.
Thanks for any info...

Yes and No. According to Sirius customer support, I can do it if I call XM. According to XM support they said I'd need to swap out the receiver with a Sirius receiver (but she obviously didn't know if the traffic/weather feature would work).
They still seem to operate independently from what I've experienced.
