No hack out that I know of. But it would be nice. There is a company working on an interface to toggle your NAV screen to any external video input..

That would be nice. You would think someone out there would've done that already.

I think a long as there is a separate slot for DVD and CD playback, then it would be difficult to achieve. No physical connections. I test drove the Ford Flex, Toyota Venza and the Jeep Commander prior to making the deal for the MDX, and all were capable of DVD play back on the front Nav screen while in park. I believe you could only play CD or DVD, not both.
But who knows maybe someone can make it work.

You're going to have to buy something like a navtool, Dom's unit, etc, which allows you to add an additional video input. I have a navtool ($170 ebay) and a 1/2 din dvd player ($70 ebay) in my center console. Here is link to my thread.....

Not picking, but why would I want to play DVD's in park and drain my car battery? Or Why would I sit in my car with the car idling to do this? That's what portable units are for.

Sometimes a guy needs to just geek out. In my case the garage is my escape from the nagging in the house. Is it too much to ask for a little sock-drawer DVD action in the car???

"UhOh, uuummm...daddy's busy honey. I'm almost finished, I'll be right in."

Thanks for all the good input. I'm a tech freak, so I would like to be able to play Dvd's. What's really cool about that is if you take long trips with the wife and she wants to watch a movie. I have to be able to drive with it on. Especially if you have a music mix DVD that you can blast on your system... Just cool stuff. I'll have some good, high action movie playing on my way vacationing another state. Just hope I don't get pulled over . Man, I'm jealous that these other cars have that feature and the TL's don't?
