Navi Hack?

So, anyone got any ideas on hacking the navi to dump the "ok" button? I almost miss my '06 3G with the hacked navi.

I concur, this startup screen is really pissing me off. It's actually a terrible distraction as well and not smart on Acura's part. A hack is a matter of practicality now!

at least the 4G navi starts much faster than the 3G's. My 3's was so slow to start and even seemed to pause and think over my 'ok' response

Found another NAVI problem...I bought the 09 TL AWD, TECH PKG.....It keeps telling me I am enter unviefied area and use the dotted line for guide.....It does this even when I am on a verified road, but near a un verifeid one and NO destination layed into the NAVI. I was told today by the dealer tech, that he had called Acura engineering and found out they have a problem with all TL's with NAVI doing this...They are suppose to be working on the problem and said since the TL has a hard drive and should not be too hard to fix, but might take a month or two to figure it out...

It is a big pain the butt! Every single day, as I enter my neighborhood, my navi announces that she doesn't know where she is (ie-unverified road). Great--if the car's lost then how am I supposed to depend on it to guide me to new or out of the way places??? This is even more annoying when I am on the speakerphone with someone and she announces that she's lost and confused and the announcement can clearly be heard by the caller since the navi speaker is directly under the overhead microphone. I have been told that the only way to disable it is to go into the settings and disable all voice prompts and then she will shut up. Sorta defeats the purpose of spending all of that time and development dollars on a voice-activated nav and then have the customer turn it all off because the constant verbal reminders are annoying as all hell, huh? It would have been better, IMO, if they had created a checklist page of announcements in setup and let you pick and choose what, if anything, you wanted announced.

It wasn't for the '07/'08 (v 4.xx White Disc) - No Nag Button removal; splash screen hack only. But now you guys can load your own splash pics as a feature right?

It's pretty chaotic.

Nope. The use of the uploaded pics is EXTREMELY limited. You can't show it upon startup (instead of the Acura screen), you can't show it instead of the OK screen. The only way to get it to show a wallpaper is to leave it sitting on the OK screen for a few minutes. Alternatively, it is buried in the settings menu, but cannot be accessed while the car is moving, for supposed safety reasons. Pretty dumb, Acura =( Wouldn't be much of a problem if you could voice activate it, but if the car's moving, you can't even do that! So now, I leave it on the OK screen, and it shows my wallpaper, but when I want to change the song that's playing, I have to hit audio, which makes the wallper disappear. Oftentimes, I'm on the highway, and cannot get the wallpaper back at all =( Such a hassle for something so silly.

Yeah it's kind of a oxy moron move. I don't understand while people create something so smart and intuitive then fall short with the little things that could send it over the top? While I'm happy with the Nav/Tech system in the 4G, it could of been the absolute bomb if they went the extra mile with some pertinent details.

Now, I leave the wallpaper on when I don't need nav directions, and if I need to change the song, rather than choosing the one I want, I just use the steering wheel buttons. This way, the wallpaper stays on =) One downside to this is if a call comes in, you have to take the OK screen off in order to see who it is. Also, if you want to make a call, you have to take the wallpaper off. Very disappointing, as I'm a wallpaper fanatic.
