My 2012 TL audio project
Hey guys this took me all day i had to run to the store twice, i will post some pics i took with my phone tomorrow so you can see the install.
Am doing a full alpine type R system in the car
Front - Alpine SPR 60c
Rear shelf - Alpine SPR 60
Sub - Alpine type R 10" dual 4 ohm will be wired to 2 ohms (1000 watts rms)
Amps
Alpine PDX F4
Alpine MRX-M100
Audiocontrol LC8
later i will add a third amp for the rear doors and center channel.
I installed the speakers in the fronts and rear shelf today, followed the DIY on the site, i had to destroy all my stock speakers to use the brackets to fit the type r's. I did not remove the a pillar to install the tweeters i simply pulled the rubber door seal, pull the trim and popped the tweeter out and replaced them. I added dynamat on the door skins and rear shelf.
This took me all day to do because i took my time not to break anything
The amps and sub was not installed i only installed the speakers and the dynamat, i removed the stock sub from the shelf and left it open.
Now the Problem
I tested the speakers before i put all the panels and seat back together it sounded great, now after it's all reinstalled am getting a altenator noise coming through my tweeters.
No amps were installed all i changed was the speakers, any idea what is causing this?
I disconnected the battery and pulled the air bag fuse before i started.
I will post some pictures tomorrow to show the install.

quiet room, as i said i followed the DIY on the site and did the samething just with different speakers. The pic with my crusty fingers show where i pulled the rubber seal and pulled the a pillar trim to replace the tweeter.
Sorry for the way the pics look i had to redo because of the size.

It is indeed strange you are getting alternator whine through the speakers. Did you connect the LC8 yet? I know with my previous installs I cold never make them work with the LC8 it was the culprit for me.
On a side note, to get the rear shelf off did you have to remove the C-Pillars? Or were you able to slip it out with just the rear seat removed?

Lc8 not installed i just replaced the speakers, and yes i had to remove the c pillar to get the rear shelf trim off. there are 4 clips on the c pillar trim one of them was a bitch to get off.

Your in Toronto? where? we got a crew out here that might be able to help. But again Check your ground. I got a system myself. had many... 95% of the time it's ground.

yes am in Scarborough,
i found what was causing my buzzin sound, i happen to notice that the sound was coming from the driver's side tweeter only. So i i moved the crossover box for the tweeter and realize that it was too close to the fuse box next to my clutch peddle.
I had to cut the wires and extend it away from the fuse box and problem solved.
The speakers sound great with lots of high end and sweet mids.

Are you running your speakers off the factory amp? From reading around the consensus is that if you run off the factory amp the sound will not be that great due to the resistance of the speakers. Just wanted to double check what is your experience?
