Key fab battery

What sort of battery life is everyone getting with the Tech key fab. I've had to replace mine after about 3 months. Is it constantly transmitting a signal for the keyless entry and push button start?

Also, I had to use the manual key and it was really tight trying to get it in the door lock. The door handle housing was interfering with the key hole slightly.

my key works fine, i've only used it so far to make sure it works. I've had my TL for 5 months now, and battery life on both fobs are still good.

You shouldn't have had to change your key fob battery that quick, they should last a while sometimes up 2 years or more. I don't think its constantly transmitting or we would have a cool car, like when you get close to it, its unlocks, J/K. Yeah your keyfob battery shouldn't have went out so quick.

Do you put your key fob in the pocket and have something keep pressing it all the times?

The fob shouldn't be transmitting anything unless you press a key or unless when your fob is within the range of the key fob reader on the car and your fob acknowledges the request sent by the car.

Power management on this kind of small embedded system (your fob) has been significantly improved over the years and a single button battery should last pretty long.
