Issues with iPod in '10 TL

So I've been having this ongoing annoyance w/ my TL. I have an iPhone 4 and a iPod classic. When I plug either of them in using the USB cable, sometimes it will say "Unreadable Data" or "No Data". Sometimes it will play my music and then all of a sudden no audio comes out but the song continues to play.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix for it?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, that happens with my positively ancient iPhone 3G when using the USB cable. Bluetooth audio works perfectly though.

The fix is very simple for me on my device which might work for your newer iPhone. Whenever the audio cuts out and the music keeps playing according to the system or when you get either error messages, simply unplug the dock connector and plug it back in. You should get a prompt on your phone about compatibility which you can dismiss in a tap. The audio should be back to normal.

If that doesn't work, then something may have changed on the phone's software as the iPhone 3G is permanently stuck with iOS 4.2.1

Yea - my 3G had issues with being connected via USB - bluetooth worked fine. When I got my 4G i had no issues with either. I even noticed after upgrading to IO5 that i was able to move forward and backward with the steering wheel controls when playing music from iPod over bluetooth. Not sure if that ever worked before.
