Issue with iPhone 4's and HandsFreeLink

Hoping someone can help me here. I just purchased a new 2012 TL (basic package.. not the technology package.) My new iphone 4s pairs perfectly with HFL. However, here is the problem.

When I receive a call, I here the ringing through the HFL system. However, as soon as I pick up the call, I lose the HFL connection and am not on the iphone. I need to manually change my source back to HFL and it works fine. However, this means I miss the first 5 seconds of every call and it is really not hands free, as when I pick up a call, I have to scramble to change the source.

Am I missing something simple here? I have no idea what could cause this? Thanks.

are you answering the phone with the IPHONE or the button on the steering wheel? If you answer using the phone, then you will receive on the phone.

That's why I love these forums. For the life of me, I could not figure it out. You are exactly right - I was answering on the phone! Thanks for the help.

Nice call, Dwest!

BJF, welcome to Acurazine. And remember, once you're on the HFL, you can stay on it and not have to touch your iPhone (once it pairs up).

hey fellow 'ziners...sorry to hijack this thread but here it goes...

I have a 2012 tech, w/ iPhone 4-IOS5. Pairing via HFL/Bluetooth is great. Phone and audio have no major issues. However, whenever i invoke the TL's voice command to perform a task (AC on, destination, etc) while streaming music, afterwards, the music does not play again. I have to manually say "Bluetooth audio play" to restart the playback.

Has anyone seen this behavior? I could have sworn it played automatically before as soon as the TL's voice command finishes execution.

Thanks in advance.

Even if you answer on the phone it pop a choice, do you want to use iphone or handfreelink. if you select handsfree then you will be able to use car phone system. If you specifically say iphone then you know what that means.
