iPod volume processed by TL?

iPod volume processed by TL?
I have a 2012 TL with the ELS system. I know in iTunes, you can adjust the volume of each track before you copy it onto your iPod. When you hook up an iPod to the TL, does it process the volume information in each track or does it ignore volume information as well as the iPod Sound Check setting? Thanks.
