Have had my 2012 TL for about a month. The USB port is giving me issues on the my Iphone 3gs (won't recognize). I'm running the latest update from Apple. I have tested with other ppl Iphones and found the same issue on the similar update form Apple but the 3G seemed to work sporadically.

Any recommendation?

The owner's manual does not list the iPhone as compatible with the TL. I found, like you, that it doesn't work right. It doesn't work right in my wife's Civic either, apparently Honda hasn't done whatever needs to be done to make the iPhone work in their cars.

I just bought a cheap iPod nano and use that - it holds all of my stuff, works perfectly with the car, and I can leave it connected all the time other than when I'm updating it. I used to forget my phone in the car all the time when I used it for music.

 

Just picked up a 12 SH-AWD Tech and my iPhone 4 works great with the usb. Even the iPad 2 works well.

 

No problems with mine so far. I have my iPod touch connected by usb and my iPhone 4 connected using bluetooth audio.

 

i have the same exact setup with no issues at all...i switch between the ipodtouch and my iphone depending on what music i want to listen to...

 

My iPhone 3GS and my wife's 4G work great in our 2012 SH-AWD Advance. Actually prefer to use the Blutooth, but no issues for us.
