IPhone Question

For those of you with an IPhone, when I have it connected to the USB cable and am using the Ipod function, I find that when I plug in the USB cable, the songs on my Ipod work in the car under the IPod function.. When the car is turned off and the power is removed from the Ipod and then the power is put back onto the Ipod (ie I start up the car again), the song display will be up and no volume. My Wife's TSX does this as well. The only way to get the volume back is to disconnect the IPod from the USB cable and then reconnect it. There has to be a better way. What am I doing wrong?

You're using an iPhone... That's the problem. The software on the iPhone updates much quicker than the software updates for a car. Check the Audio subforum. I would imaging that they'll probably be more problems with the iPhone 4.

i think the problem youre having is the same as the one in this thread. basically what happens is the iphone links up through the blue tooth when you restart the car.

So, does anyone know the fix on this. This sounds like a good reason, but how to stop it?

Bring up the Ipod app, click the little Bluetooth icon, then select Dock Connector. Unfortunatley haven't found a way to make this the default.

What is supposed to happen when you touch the BT icon? Nothing happens on my iPhone 4 when I touch it in the iPod app as you describe. I have constant problems getting the iPhone music to play consistently whether thru iPod dock or BT. I get "unrecognized media," "no songs," or "no connection" messages frequently. Only solved by unplugging and restarting several times.

The unrecognized media is the USB connection. The audio drop is the Bluetooth taking over the USB connection. There is no fix, but one work around at this time is to disable the Bluetooth on the iPhone. Obviously, the HFL won't work without Bluetooth, so this is a problem.

PLEASE CALL HONDA/ACURA DIRECTLY AND IN TORRANCE, CA TO CONVEY YOUR ISSUE, IT'S VERY IMPORTANT. FORGET THE DEALERSHIP, THEY CAN'T HELP YOU.

Hey, I was away from my car this past weekend, but did the update. I've had no issues so far with the bluetooth cut off while using the iPod portion of the 3GS iphone? The 4.0.1 update might have done the trick? We'll see...

Fingers crossed for you, bmode! I upgraded to the iPhone 4, gave my GF the 3GS. Both have the 4.xx upgrade (as does my iPod Touch) and there have been no issues. I think the bluetooth link is actually stronger.

Thanks Bleu, however I'm still blue. In fact, it's gotten worse. Sometimes cutting off within seconds once I select the "dock connection" in the iPod portion of my 3GS iphone. Here's the really sad thing, my iPhone worked perfectly and paired much quicker in my friends Lexus and BMW.

I'm getting tired of watching those Acura commercials about being innovative!!!
