so i know this is probably a dumb question; but i've done a few searches and searched the manual to no avail..

i've added a few new contacts to my iphone 4. however when i access my phonebook via the nav screen i do not see these updated contacts.. whats the deal? thanks in advance

 

Dont have a 4G, but i'm thinking you're going to have to RE-IMPORT.

 

Yep, you have to delete the existing phonebook and import it again.

 

hm.. how do i delete my phonebook? this car re-imports my phone book every time i get in the car (takes about 2mins); i thought it was re-importing every time i got in.. thanks

It doesnt re-import every time you get in, you will need to re-import manually to update new contacts. No need to delete the phonebook, just re-import. BTW, I have a 4 (before had a 3) they work the same for this purpose.

 

Omar, go to your "INFO" button and then follow the screen instructions. It should have an option to "Import Phonebook". Just hit that option and it should do it automatically.

 

Unfortunately in the 2012s (as per omaralt), the phonebook DOES import every time. Huge PITA.
