How to install HID replacement bulbs?

I just ordered 6000K HID bulbs and figured it would be just like changing any other bulbs... Turns out, it's placed at a bizarre angle which lots of obstructions. The books says to take it to a dealer.

Do any of you happen to have instructions, pics, etc. on how to do this? I'm NOT taking it to a STealer to have them change it...

THX

its not that hard. Like dethred said and just peal back the wheel well liner. A flashlight helps.

Any of you know where to find a schematic? I took a quick look and saw I'd need to undo some screws from the bottom before I can pull away the wheel well lining....

After that, is it as simple as reaching up and replacing the bulb or do you guys anticipate it being much more difficult than that?

I changed mine to 8000K and I basically pulled the bumper off to get at them. It only took like 30 to 40 minutes to do, but you will need to take off the bumper to do it.

So I guess I'd put myself in a relatively newbie category in that I can generally take things apart, and good with other types of electronics, but never did much with regards to cars... I can usually change bulbs and fuses and little things like that...

So... with that in mind... what did removing the bumper involve? Was it just a few screws and removing the bumper.. or did it involve taking other things apart as well? I'm trying to gauge whether it's even worth trying myself or pay someone to do it...

just curious - are you trying to change the fog lights or the headlights? - I think based on some responses that people think it is the fogs.

I'm curious to know myself if changing the low beams require taking off the damn bumper. Can someone clarify if this needs to happen? I would hate to have to take off the bumper just to change a silly little bulb. I just received my Philips Ultinon Bulb this afternoon in the mail and I am super anxious to fire it up. =)

For those that have changed their lights - what is the easiest way to access the low beams? And do I need to disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical discharge as per the instruction manual. Thanks guys!

I know this isn't any help but i just removed my headlight assemblies by removing the fromt bumper. It's not difficult but it is harrowing for a new car. Takes about 30 min.

I guess I'll attack the wheel well liner first before removing the bumper. Going to take the path of least resistance here.....lazy man's talk. Even popping off the covers was nerve wrecking esp since I only have 800 miles on her. Looks like it is either one or the other.

Damn what happened to the good ol' days of just popping open your hood and yanking out the bulb? And I thought working on my motorcycle (Also a Honda) is a PITA, this is just as bad.

This link is to instructions for replacing the sport grill. It shows how to remove the bumper also.

Thanks... I'm going to have to wait on this... Not enough space in NYC to do all of this... Maybe when I go to a friend's house upstate...

Anyone have the same for the Wheel Well liner?

Why take off your bumper?!?! Its easy to do.

1. Turn your wheel in so you have more room to work

2. Remove the screw and a few of the plastic "plugs" (not sure what they're called)

3. Peel back wheel well liner, from there you will be able to see the back of head light.

Just replaced my OEM 4300k to Kaixen 6000k. My buddy helped me out. All you have to do is turn the wheel all the way to the side so you have room, take the plastic plugs out that hold the wheel liner, reach your hand where the bulb is located and remove the plastic cover that covers the hid bulb, and then pull the bulb out. Took less than 30 minutes to complete.
