Front and rear pillar removal help needed
Hey guys, I need some direction or some shop manual pics for removing the front and rear pillars (A and C I believe). I am replacing all the speakers in my 09 all wheel drive and will post pics of the install but I need some help determining how to remove the pillars without the airbag popping or breaking any clips. Any help is greatly appreciated and I will begin posting pics of the project as I work on it.
Going to put MB Quart 6.5" componets in the front doors and rear deck, 4" MB quart co-ax in the rear doors and one or two JL Audio 10" subs in the trunk. All will be powered by Alpine amps. Of course, all doors, deck lid, and trunk will be deadened with dynomat or fatmat...

6G TLX-S
I have removed the A-pillar once in order to run the radar detector wire down to the fusebox.
To remove the A-pillar on the 4G TL, first pull down the black weather seal on the door fame, starting from the top of the A-pillar. Once the seal is removed, you'll see a small tab sticking out from the pillar trim cover near to the top. This tab tells you whereabout the "punch out" clip is located.
Trace along the tab towards the center of the A-pillar. The "punch out clip" is located right underneath there. Then use a rubber hammer to hit hard at this location. This will break the clip and release the top half of the trim cover.
There is another reusable clip near the center/bottom of the A-pillar. Just give it a tuck and it will release the bottom half of the trim cover.
Remember to buy a new "punch out" clip to replace the old one, since the old one cannot be reused.
