Focal PS165 in a 2010 TL tech?

Hey guys I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for. I saw a thread one time where a guy had the focal ps165 component set in a 4g TL. Does anyone know if the tweeters fit in easily or if you have to do something custom to make them fit? Do they hide behind the factory tweeter grille or not? Any help is always appreciated.

Most higher end speakers fit easily in place of factory stuff. Are you installing or shop?

I will have a shop do the install. I still need to get subs too. I can't decide if one 12w6 or two 10's would sound better. I have always had 10's as they producer a cleaner (not so mirror shaking) bass. At the same time I don't wanna give up too much trunk space. Not sure what to do just as of yet.

I had Focal KRX-2 professionally installed and had my A-pillars garnish modified for the tweeters. I now have Focal Utopia 165-RC up front and purchased another set of A-pillar garnish which was also modified.

I looked at the PS165 and I believe that tweeter does hide behind the grill, if not it requires very little modification.
I really wanted the K2s but wanted to keep the factory look and ended of going with the JL C5s because of the smaller tweeter and no regrets.

For sub single 10" or single 12" is plenty, the W6 is a amazing sub (And I have one for sale in the classifieds)

Yea their lower end stuff is, the C5s and ZRs are made in Germany and for subs I think W3 line and up is still made in the states.

I haven't personally heard FI subs but, couple of my friends in the industry swear by them.

It was most likely my post you saw. Yes, the tweeters from the 165 KR2's fit in the pillar, but my installer used a bit of 'something' to keep them in place as they are physically smaller than the OEM tweeters. Brew went to the expense of having his A-pillars customized (or fabricated), where I just used the OEM grills.

I used the mid from the 165 KRX3 for the center channel in my set-up. Also, in my system, which was centered around the MS-8, I just didn't worry about the speakers in the rear doors, opting to upgrade the rear shelf speakers to the 165 KR's

The PS165 are a lower priced Focal component set. The dimensions on both are similar so there is no issue related to fit.
