Anyone know how to completely erase/format the hard drive HDD and all settings on a 2009 acura TL with NAV?

 

I can't recall the precise procedure, but this is clearly an item addressed in either the nav or owner's manuals.

 

I don't recall reading anything about this in the NAV manual (I may be mistaken - it wouldn't be the 1st time). The manual does tell you how to delete items but that is hardly what I consider a full erasing of the hard drive. Even if you could erase it completely and reformat it, you would be left with an empty hard drive. Where and how would you get the operating system files to re install them onto the hard drive?

 

Again, I'm not near my manual, but I suspect it's under the heading "Erasing (or Deleting) personal Data (or Information)" Your music, like your stored addresses and contact list, is simply "Personal Data". I don't know if there's a way to (easily) erase all the music, but leave things such as contacts. I expect it would be a rare set of circumstances where one would wish to do so.
