Does anyone have a copy of the DVD-A demo disk that comes with most Acura vehicles? It seems it's not included in Canada... The thousands we pay more for the cars just isn't enough I guess.

I would be grateful if someone could assist me in getting a copy of this disk.

It actually comes in the leather binder, that you received with the car
Ask your dealer to get you one, if it wasn't included

I've already checked the binder and spoke to my dealer and was told that it's no longer included in Canadian vehicles hence my posting asking for help... Did they lie to me?

Any Canadians get the DVD-A demo disk with their 2012 vehicles?

Called Acura Canada and was told it only comes in base cars... WRONG!
Then told it's already on the hard drive... WRONG!
Then told it's not available and does not come with the car even if I'm willing to pay for it!! Then told I can't buy it because it does not exist! WOW!! What a terrible experience and what uninformed customer service reps! Totally uninterested in helping a customer... Not a good start Acura!

If anyone would be willing to assist me in getting one of these disks Id be willing to pay for it and it would be greatly appreciated.

Special software is needed to copy and reproduce these discs. It's unlikely the average person will be able to make a legal copy.

I did.... not interested in what did or didnt come in Canadian cars and told that only dealers can sell parts not them...

There could be some used DVD's floating around ebay or amazon, or you could try a few discount Acura parts retailers, also online.

 

My Canadian sales rep told me they are no longer available. I too wish I had one to show off the system to my friends :-(

 

I work at a dealership and can assure you that while Acura hasn't provided the demo disc in the TL for at least three years, every new 2013 RDX I've seen with the ELS system is being shipped with them. Perhaps your dealer could have checked a little closer...

 

I think the fact that 2 dealers parts depts AND Acura Canada said it was unavailable is really pathetic! As a new Acura customer it's left me wondering what kind of customer service to expect in the future.... Weak Acura! Weak!

 

Strange that you say Acura has not provided them for 3 years. I received one with my 2009 TL 3 years ago and again yesterday when I picked up my 2012 TL.

 

I have a 2012 that I picked up in September. No DVD-A came with it either.

2 different dealers, as well
Both in the US; Brooklyn, & New Jersey
My'09, was a FWD; my 2012, is a SH AWD
They were inserted in the leather binder, that came with the car

 

Please note the geographic difference : Canada vs US.

Canada has no disc. US has disc. It's just as simple as that.

 

I purchased a 2012 TL Elite from Alberta, canada, (1 month ago) and it did not have the DVD-A Demo disc either. It wasn't in the leather binder either.

Right now, I'm just using the demo disc that came with my 2005 TL to show off my sound system to friends.

 

i received one with my 2012 TL Advance. if you go on ebay and search acura dvd audio, you will see 2 current listings. one is for a 2006 model year disc, and the other doesn't list the model year, but it says it has tracks from the Foo Fighters, Eagles and Steely Dan. my 2012 disc has those artists, so it might be 2012. remember the make and model year don't really matter. they all play in all dvd-audio systems.

if you want to show off the music system, go to amazon.com and enter "beatles love DVD audio". The first listing says Love (CD + Audio DVD) buy new for $18.63. that has both a CD and DVD Audio in the package and I absolutely guarantee you that you won't hear a DVD Audio that shows off the system better than that one, and ITS AVAILABLE.
My DVD Audio collection includes Hotel California, Two Against Nature, Gaucho (both Steely Dan), Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, The Police Every Breathe You Take (DTS 5.1 CD actually), Moody Blues Days of Future Past (also DTS 5.1), two Pink Floyd bootleg DVD-Audios, Aqualung, Queen's A Night at The Opera, the Led Zeppelin Song Remains The Same live double disc DVD-Audio, and two Acura demo DVD-Audio discs and none of them except maybe Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon shows off the system better than Beatles love. if you have a 4th generation TL, you might think Lennon and McCartney are literally sitting on your dashboard when they are singing. Its hard to believe that these recordings were originally made 40+ years ago.

If you are disappointed, i will personally reimburse you, and no, i don't sell these!! LOL.

I've posted this elsewhere, but I too was wanting the demo disc. I saw one on eBay, but let it go. Tried calling my dealership (Westside Acura in Edmonton), and was told that they couldn't order them for me, but to try back during the week and speak with the General Manager. Tried that, he took my number, and called me back in five minutes to say that he found one for me, and that I could pick it up anytime. Free of charge.

That's the sort of thing that makes it easy to decide where to get my next Acura from.
