if it weren't compressed it would require a huge hard drive. Dozens of gigabytes to fit several DVD-A's.

After thinking about it after i posted my message. Even if you could rip DVD-A, the sound quality would be inferior. Once you rip something you compress it. So it would defeat the purpose of using a format that can store more info.
