CD storage limit on Hard Drive w/Tech Nav

Does anyone know approximately how many CDs the Tech package head unit can store?

What is the initial size of the hard drive and is it upgradeable?

should have done some research first b4 posting the question - but here are some of the answers! Seems like upgrading the HD isn't as simple as ripping to a usb drive or using an ipod. So much for the HDD feature on the head unit!

Hard Disk Drive (HDD)

The Navigation System HDD provides 15 gigabytes of storage for music, which is enough for approximately 3000 average-sized songs recorded from originally produced CDs. The system is set to record CDs automatically when they are inserted, but you can change this setting to manually record the entire CD or individual songs. Song and artist information is displayed on the navigation screen and music can be searched by song title, artist, genre, record date, or playlist using the interface dial or verbal commands with the Song by Voice™ feature. The Hard Disk Drive is accessed by pressing the HDD/AUX button. Depending on what devices are connected, pressing the button rotates through HDD, USB** connection, auxiliary input, and Bluetooth* Audio.

It's worth noting that the HDD in tech package cars only store music from store-bought CDs, so if you're wondering why your songs won't store, that could be the reason

If you've copied CDs from a friend they'll rip to the hdd, I've done so with many discs already

Most of my cd's are copied CD's or burned CD's and have never had an issue recording them to the HDD.
