I have a 2012 Tech and I've been kind of annoyed for awhile that when using Bluetooth the artist and song info isn't shown. I've done some searching and I see that since I have a newer phone (Galaxy S8) that the TL uses an outdated version of Bluetooth that won't see the info from my phone.

I went into the TL diagnostic mode and saw that my software is version 01.110000. I've seen a couple of other posts showing screenshots with much newer versions of the software shown. So my question is, how can I update the firmware (I don't care about updating the maps, I'm hoping the 2 are separate) and does anyone have updated software on their TL that shows the song/artist info?

I don't know what version I'm running, but I'm pretty sure my Bluetooth displays the artist and track. I have a '13 Advance/Elite model.

 

I have a 2014 Elite and it doesn't display the artist or song in Bluetooth mode, it only displays them when I plug in my IPhone cable and it is pretty annoying. I have a IPhone 6s Plus and it sucks that it only shows that dumb screen. How can I change it I don't want to have to bring my charger in the car everytime I'm driving

 

Would you mind checking to see if it does actually show the artist/song info? And if so, see what version software you have?

To access the Diagnostic menu: hold down MAP/GUIDE, MENU and CANCEL together for about 4 seconds. When the menu comes up go-to the bottom option and then on this screen you'll see "Version" and it will give you a # like mine.

I suspect that the dealership occasionally updates the software when you come in for maintenance. The '12 and '13 have the same nav/audio setup so if you have one that works I could go in and see if I can get the update.

I am running version 03.000600. And sorry, the track and artist info doesn't show up either. I must have had it plugged in the last time I tried it.

this has to be one of my top frustrations with the TL. Not sure how they havent released an update to resolve this. Pretty crappy of Acura. Between this and the 2-3 second delay that bluetooth audio has its pretty unacceptable.
