Bluetooth randomly cuts off
Hey everyone,
I'm not sure why this started, nothing has changed, same phone, no software changes, but my Bluetooth seems to cut off only when I'm in a phone call, then it will reconnect 3 seconds later. Happens randomly.
Streaming music and everything else Bluetooth related works like a charm just not phone calls, anyone else experience this??
Any help appreciated!

I was having the same issue - was working fine when I first bought the car, then started doing exactly what you're saying. I don't know which phone you use but I use an IPhone and the last OS update seems to have fixed whatever the issue was (for me).
Have you tried deleting the BT profile from both the car and the phone and then pairing again as new?

Interestingly I had a N3 but didn't have the car then so can't say what might be causing it. For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried pairing and using maybe a friend's/SO's phone to see if the problem is replicated?

I can't remember where I read it (it could have even been a thread on here), but try turning the WiFi off on your phone. In my case, I used Tasker for Android to set up an event that will automatically disable WiFi when the phone connects to the car's bluetooth, then re-enable after it disconnects.
I was getting the same random disconnects, and it stopped completely after performing the above. Hope this helps. I believe it has to do with the phone constantly scanning its surroundings for access points to connect to, tricking the car into doing weird stuff.

You are correct, turning off Wifi will keep the Bluetooth from disconnecting. I have Android version 5.0.2 and that is when my issues started. Bluetooth will drop sometimes 5 seconds into call and come back on in about 4 or 5 seconds, without dropping call.
I just remember to shut off Wifi before I start driving.
Good Luck

I'm having the opposite issue in that it takes forever to connect. I often have to turn BT off then back on and then it will connect. So irritating. I'll try turning WiFi off and see if that helps.

Turning the wi-fi off doesn't seem to help. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to connect and other times it takes seconds. I know it isn't my phone because it connects to the stereo in my truck pretty quickly and consistently. There is a TSB to update the HFL software. I wonder if this update will help.
