Bluetooth IPhone 7+ Question

Car = 2012 TL Tech
Problem = Wife just upgraded to IPhone 7+ and her attempts to pair the phone with the car have failed. Any ideas, tips, tricks? Is there a software upgrade for the car? Your assistance appreciated.

Smile Problem Solved

The wife figured it out. She tried starting the pairing process with her phone turned off. After the car couldn't find a phone, she turned hers on and followed the steps/answered the questions posed by the car and it ended up pairing. Essentially the key was apparently starting the process with the phone turned off. Hope that helps someone else.

When it's connected into Bluetooth and music is playing does it show you that dumb screen or does it show you the song your. Playing and the artist? This is only in Bluetooth mode and not with the IPhone charger connect.

It shows up like you're playing through bluetooth headphones, not like the old iPod interfaces

That's weird! I plug mine in through a cigarette lighter adapter and use the bluetooth and I can see everything on the phone. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you're doing, but I've played with all of the options a bunch. I plug in through the lighter adapter mostly because the USB is version 1.1 and has almost no power to the point where the phone keeps losing power if I'm using any kind of navigation on it.

im trying to stream music via Bluetooth without the cord and I'm not able to select or browse through music. The music plays via Bluetooth I just have no control of navigating songs and etc through the screen do you know how to fix that?

When streaming Bluetooth you can only navigate that stuff through your phone, not the car screen. There are many threads on this, and no one has figured out a way to get around that.

I am sometime able to navigate through the car controls and sometimes I have to control it through my phone. I use bluetooth without the wire just wireless. Also, it doesnt show the name of the songs just bluetooth audio.

It's the way Acura implemented AVRCP. you can use volume button, skip and rewind on the steering wheel but no track info on the Audio screen. My 5s did the same. I believe it is because at some point, iOS default AVRCP profile became 1.4 or higher. Even though it is supposed to be backward compatible, the Acura can't do it.
My Nexus 5 and HTC One M8 could strem track info. My Galaxy S6 couldn't. My Essential Phone on Android 7.1.1 could do it but on Oreo 8.0, it stopped because the default BT Profile is now 1.4. Apparently on Oreo 8.1 on The Pixel devices, they brought back AVRCP 1.3 and it fixed this issue on Honda vehicles and some others.
