When I stream music from my iPhone, sometimes I can use the steering wheel controls to skip from song to song, and other times I can't. I haven't noticed if there is a sequencing issue or anything, does anyone else know why this is, and how to avoid not being able to utilize steering controls?

make sure your phone had the latest firmware.

 

Maybe when it works, you;re actually playing from a playlist with multiple songs available and when it doesn't you had selected a single song to play (playlist of 1)?

Also, the next button doesn't work on all streaming apps (internet radio), I think

 

It's hit and miss sometimes with my iPhone 5, running latest IOS 7 in my 2013 Tech. I stream from Spotify and sometimes the next/back work (wheel or radio). When I find it stops working I often unlink the phone from my car in the phone setup menu, then relink. I honestly believe this is an Acura issue.

I've done tons of research on this issue, and others, re: song information not displaying as it's supposed to in 2013+ models and at the end of the day it's always pointed back to Acura for failing to update the head unit with newer firmware. My wife's 2014 MDX works flawless with mine and her phone, and does show song information on the display which just confirms the above result, Acura is likely to blame of this issue.

 

same here w Iphone 5... very hit or miss...seems random.
