ACURA 2009 TL basic replace with Touchscreen

I need to install a touchscreen screen which would mirror my phone and also display all the other functions the original factory screen does, I dont need a rearview camera just a display should suffice. Also if someone helps with any good dimension wise fit touchscreens that would be great too.

That will be very difficult to retrofit. You'll need a completely new dash and wiring for everything. The screen is roughly 4.75 by 6.375 inches, 8" diagonal. I would estimate this endeavour would cost you somewhere around $2000 with labour and new screen.

I think this is the part you need:

I have no idea what kind of touch screen you could fit in there, maybe put a tablet in there? The stock screen is not touch screen.

If you went with another screen, it would take some serious electronic skills to get it to function like stock. You would not be able to get the stock menus to function touch screen for sure.

I'm not in my car, but I have to ask, would the ergonomics of this work at all? Most cars with touchscreens have the screen placed much closer in reach of the driver. I could see a touchscreen being a pain to reach. maybe I'm wrong.

over on the 3G TL side, we've been retrofitting Android Tablets into our stock nav screen location.

with a tablet, you wouldnt need to mirror your phone.
with a tablet, you could have Movies, Music, Pictures at the tip of your finger tips.
with a tablet, you can use Google Maps for GPS and driving directions!
and many many more useful features.

Only if said finger tips were three feet long... 4G the screen is pretty far back. I gotta agree with sockpuppet.

Maybe get a mount that puts like a nexus7 in front of the current screen? You could just activate the rear camera app on the N7 to see the display on the actual Acura display!
