4g stereo upgrade

About 6 Months ago I went ahead and upgraded my factory set up will 2 JL W3 10's, Focal polyglass components for the front, Focal polyglass coax rear. I powered the Subs with a JL 500/1 and ran the front comp with a JL 300/4 and the rear deck with another 300/4. I used an Audiocontrol LC8 processor because it was much cheaper than the cleansweep and the audison Bit one.

I just had some changes made yesterday, I went with the JBL MS8 and replaced my cracked factory 3 1/2 center CH with a JL C2 3 1/2. I powered it along with the rear door speakers using the 30 watts from the JBL MS8.

I have some tweaking to do but all I have to sat is WOW the MS8 has completed my system. The sound quality is amazing. I have to figure out the settings but the system is so much cleaner sounding its almost hard to describe.

So the I had a custom sealer box built facing the rear of the seat and sealed off from the trunk simply because I hate trunk rattles, my 06 TL had horrible trunk rattles with the subs facing the rear. SOme would argue that the bass response is better bouncing of the back of the trunk but for me my set up is plenty loud so the trade of was well worth it.

I had the JBL hidden on top of the box behind the Amp panel becuase the LC8 was hidden and I really did not have room to display it with the Amps. I think next I would like a beauty plate to showcase the amps better but I was wanting to have the Amps powder coated White to match the car first and I havent had the time to explore the prodject.

Nothing too fancy but I was able to keep enough room for Golf clubs.

I was going to mount the MS8 screen in the cubby in front of the the shifter but I decided I need a change holder more than a sunglass holder.

Stealth and a clean sound with decent bass was my goal and I'm pretty happy with the results but I needs some time to adjust levels because I have lost some low end with the MS8 but I will figure it out soon enough.

Thanks to Brew and all the other members that contributed info, I took all the info I could from you guys to peice together my system.

I was thinking the exact same thing regarding the location of the MS-8 screen. Glad to see it will work. Is your a Tech? PM sent.

Very Nice setup.

Send me a PM and I will walk you through the best way to calibrate the MS-8. It took me a while but I was able to calibrate the MS-8 in a way that will result in getting the right amount of midbass. I put my MS-8 controller in the compartment below the radio and mounted the control in the slide-out portion of the arm rest. Will post pics after I get my Focal KRX2's installed (scheduled for 10/22). The MS-8 exposed some frequency limitations in my Boston Z6s so I decided to make a change.

Take your time with the calibration part an don't get frustrated. Make sure that you set your gains first then start the calibration. Don't have the MS-8 volume too loud (-20 per the manual is way too loud) and expecially the sub. The MS-8 has separate auto EQs (during calibration) for the front, rear and sub. If any speaker overpowers the other, the EQs will cut frequencies in an attempt to balance out the sound spectrum. I initially had the volume level too loud resulting in very little mid and sub bass.

Again, we can talk in detail via email or phone (if you like) once you PM me.

Is your Voice feedback and phone working correctly since it you ran the center channel through the MS-8? If not, disconnect the center channel from the MS-8 and run directly from the OEM amp or add a line driver if connected to an aftermarket amp.
