2016 Navi update on sale
I noticed the navi update is on sale for $99 + $3.95 shipping. This is not a thread to discuss if it's worth it or not. It only a courtesy notification for those who are interested.

Does anyone know if I buy the 2016 update (Purple v3.30.10.E0), can I the same DVD on my 2012 TL and my wife's 2014 RDX? It shows it's compatible for both cars.
Compatible with the following vehicle:
Acura TL 2012 - 2015
Acura ILX 2013 - 2015
Acura RDX 2013 - 2015

I just ordered the update disc yesterday. You have to key in your VIN and system ID # to place the order. As someone already mentioned, it is one car per disc. No sharing. The disc will only work on the car with the corresponding VIN.

Didn't even consider that. Was almost ready to pull the trigger, notwithstanding the higher price and shipping, but $250 for an update just doesn't make sense.

Each purchase will only load on the navi unit it is purchased for. If someone gives you a DVD set it will not load. You are given a load code at purchase that you enter to begin the load process. It somehow allows the software to load on that designated navi unit only. Acura could give out the DVDs and make you purchase just the code. That is until .... someone creates a code generator program that uses the navi unit ID as the input. I've seen it done before for high-end PC software.

I paid $99 for the update discs with free shipping. After tax it was $105. It took 2 hours to install. Installation was simple and seamless. Finally, my navigation recognizes my neighborhood (which has been around since 2007) and I don't hear that dreadful, "entering unverified area", comment every time I turn down my street. That alone was worth the $105. Other than the much needed mapping update, everything else appears about the same.

Since then, looking at the disc descriptions, it does appear that the Canadian set does include more coverage than the US. The line they've used for years is the US version just covers the first 50 or 100 miles over the Canada border; that appears to have always been untrue, but the last time I checked, the coverage areas were different.
But again, I don't know that anyone can say for sure.

I posted this elsewhere, but the most recent "update" was actually the previous update, but wrapped in a new zip file. Basically they renamed an old update. They say they're due for another one in April, but it's fairly rare for them to update on time.

If it actually went through the update process for you, then you were already behind one version. When I tried to install the most recent, it told me right away that it was already installed.

The update includes Canadian content, but the sale was US only. As mentioned above, the delivered cost for us in the north is about $250 CAD vs $104 USD. Never any sales on these updates for us.

So it's just the usual map updates not improvements in speed of overall usage. I think i'll pass

I purchased this upgrade, last one in 2014. Took almost 6 hours to upgrade in background. Updated Canada and Central America as well. I no longer have to hear that I am on a non digitized road when I drive to my house.

Purchased this upgrade thinking my 5 year old Navi would include missing 5 year old neighborhoods and roads. However, this upgrade still hasn't caught-up with these 'new' additions. Don't waste your money and time - use your cell phone!

Definitely, there's a post here -

Where I've been updating. I actually just got the refund approved and back in my account so I'll be purchasing another here shortly to give it another try.
Also going to work on finding an IDE laptop just in case something funny is going on with that.
