Question 2013 TL without Tech Pkg or Nav - Stereo/Tech Upgrades

I got a really good deal a few years ago on this 2013 TL, but as I've quickly discovered, most people have the one with the color screen and joystick, allowing them to get a Navtool to upgrade the interfaces.
I don't have that. I have the crappy black-and-white screen, and the control-dial that only rotates.

My question is: What cool upgrades have people done with this type of system?
What kinds of aftermarket stereos are great for the 2013 TL without losing features on the steering wheel?
And what should I do with the not-an-ashtray that would combo with all of this?

I custom fitted/installed an 8" tablet in my car with a Alpine digital media receiver in my glove compartment. I installed a steering wheel module to keep my steering wheel controls. I originally used my oem headunit behind my tablet (bluetooth connection) but then my factory amp crapped out on me. Here's a demo video I made.

Asus Tablet install
What did you install when the OEM Amp crapped out? One thing I'm making sure of is that the Bluetooth system is not the OEM one anymore, the sound quality is bad and there's a few seconds delay, preventing me from using Google Assistant.

I'm using an Alpine UTE-62bt. I'm rarely on my phone when I drive so I don't connect my phone to it. Just my tablet is connected.

Jtech316, it would be very cool and helpful if you posted what you did to make your install happen. I like it. But I would assume many of us would want to know how you did it.
