2012 Map Update?

Where can I find a listing of the features in this update that might convince me that it would be worth $149 to update my 2011 version?

It's probably not worth it. There will be changes to some roadways and points of interest (I added the Thai place down the street from my house).

Yeah unless you really need it, like your a pizza delivery guy or something, save your cash.

I considered buying it but talked to many people who explained the benefits and to be honest. There isn't that many!

Instead of listening to these two who always seem to post such helpful unbiased, and thoroughly researched answers you should probably go to the site that actually shows what updates were made and decide if it affects your area enough to warrant the change. If you live in a developing area it is going to be helpful, if most of your roads are the same and never change you probably will not notice much with the exception of better/more accurate POIs.

and updating the roads and POIs in your area you will help make the updates more worthwhile.

I got an email from Acura about it being $50 (if I recall properly) off their regular price not too long ago. Still expensive IMO, but they generally don't bend too much on their pricing with these updates.

I did the 07 to 09 update on the 07 TL, and there really weren't any major changes in my area that I noticed.

I have a 2010 and it shows 2010, and 2011 updates but none for 2012. That tells me that 2012 have the latest version. Since the 2012 came out in March, the updates for the 2010-11 is probably nothing more then what you have already in your 2012, and for me March is to old as a few new roads in San Diego did not open till March of this year.

That being said, the father you drive from home, the safer you are with the latest version.. I don't leave San Diego much, so for me I look for local improvements.

I still with they would give it out for free! Or at least make it easy to crack (if you will).

2012 Green DVD

Bought an 2010 MDX. Have noticed Google maps knows about some roads that the MDX does not so I thought I'd update the database.

I thought wrong.

I did respond to the offer of a $99 update. A couple of weeks later they cancelled the order with no explanation.

Have inquired further. The 2012 update - for the MDX anyway - caused sufficient problems that some systems had to be replaced. So they pulled it. They are supposedly working on a new DVD, but are not promising any dates.

Inquiring as to whether I've got any other options, but looks like I'll be navigating my pricey SUV using my phone.
