I just purchased a 2012 Acura TL with the Tech package and have a question. Does the technology package come with live traffic and weather? After I purchased the vehicle I contacted XM and they gave me a 90 subscription with traffic and weather, however when I give the car a voice command such as "Display Traffic" or Display Weather" I get nothing then three beeps. When I go into my setup the traffic and weather options are grayed out. Wondering if maybe my 12 doesn't have these options or if there may be something going on with the XM satellite. Any help would be appreciated.

Mine doesn't have it either. I mean, it has the option, but not the service. From what I understand, live traffic, weather and XM are all subscription based services. I believe they come with the car for the first little while but eventually you have to pay for them.

it is about 7 per month in addition to your XM subscription. After they turn it on go to the website and send a refresh signal for your radio. Make sure your in the car. After a few minutes your grayed out options will be active.

I had had the same issue and spent a bit on phone until I figured out I needed an extra infotainment package.

I verified my xm account that 90 days of complimentary nav traffic and nav weather are included with my trial subscription. I then sent a refresh signal still no traffic or weather

I think it is one or two. Not sure if that works but it took a couple of refresh tries to get it active. I know I was disappointed I lost it after a map upgrade. The refresh did not work but I tried a few more times. I sent refresh from car so if you have a smart phone do from vehicle. If not call but be in car when it is done. Try a few times in different locations.

I added my vehicle to my subscription and sent the refresh signal at the house and at another location with no luck. I will continue sending refresh signals and if I can't get it to work will call XM and have them send the signal. Thanks for the information

Also make sure as when I asked for weather and traffic they told me I had it but it was a radio station. You need the weather and channel infotainment package that adds the extra 7 a month.

Yes I have the complimentary weather and traffic, when that expires it will roll onto my existing account and include a $7.00 per month charge for traffic and weather. Going to try to have them send a refresh signal before I leave work.

Update: I talked to a XM Satellite rep on the website. They said they couldn't help me so they gave me an 866 number to call for the experts to troubleshoot my issue. The extent of the troubleshooting was to go out to my vehicle and turn the radio on. After a moment while the expert checked to see if there was anything they could do got back on the line and said the Acura dealer needs to enable those features on my navigation system. A lot of hassle for little benefit. Think I'll cancel the traffic and weather and forget about it.

Update: I went to the traffic and weather signal status screen it is showing a "Check Antenna" message. Any suggestions on possible fixes other than the Acura dealer?

I pushed Menu + Map + Cancel to get into the diagnostic menu but it didn't work initially. Not sure what I finally pushed but I ended up into the diagnostic mode. I have tried to get back in but have had no luck. Does anyone know how to get into the diagnostic mode and perform a hard reset of my navigation system.

I think my traffic and weather not working is mechanical. Anyone ever have the two icons in red and performed a hard reboot and have the problem clear up?

So I went into diagnostics again and clicked on the red XM(HIP) icon. The attached photo is what I see. I have clicked XM(HIP) Diag and nothing happens, all icons to the left remain white. XM satellite radio works fine, no traffic, no weather or Acura messages.
